Every year is different; every year shapes up the last and makes room for the new. High school for mostly anyone is one of the best experiences in their life and it has been for me. Starting high school as a home schooler and shifting to a regular school has been a good experience which has helped me grow in other aspects other than education. This year so far has been an exciting journey; very different to the rest.
Like I stated, I began high school home schooling and it was good; I traveled around the country and had a lot of opportunities but I started noticing that I was not able to receive too much help if I had a problem or question about school because my mother is a music teacher not chemistry, or English teacher so we decided to enroll in Lindsay High school—the school were my dad attended.
I started 11th grade, junior year, with a lot of expectations and goals; I wanted to pass above average on the three A.P. courses I had sign up for; receive level 4’s for every class; be on pace in all the grading periods. These are high goals but I always believed it was possible if I put the work in. One of the things I had planned was to join the Lindsay Soccer team which I did and I was persistent with practices every day until I got sick and I was not allowed to play by doctor. After this incident I felt that soccer was taking too much of my time and I was sleeping too late doing all the work for my classes which got me a little stressed so I decided it was time to let go of soccer to focus on my primary goals which I feel they are being accomplished each day with all the hard work I have been putting in.
This Year I have really enjoyed the company of my classmates, especially in my AP classes because I learn how to work and tackle big challenges as a group. One of my favorite classes so far has been AP English, I find myself getting caught with learning new challenging material and I absolutely love it. The best part about it is that I feel and see how I have been improving in my writing and language skills throughout the year.
For the future I want to become more dedicated on school and go above the expectations. I want to manage my time better so I can have enough time for everything from school, sports, music, and social life. I am looking forward to pass my AP exams and finish my Junior year with a 3.6 GPA weighed and score 1700+ on the SAT this are my goals I am going to tackle this second semester.
Above all I want to be a good citizen in this world; I want to be someone that can help society become a better place; I want to exceed from all I do in the future; and starting this from my junior year will make it become easier in the future.
