Job Shadow questions/responses with P.A. Mario Celaya
Question 1: How do you see the jobs in the field change in the future?
Answer: The field is excellent. Their is always opportunities in the medical field as humans will always need health related help. The field is growing and it will continue growing for many years to come.
Question 2: What inspired you to choose your career?
Answer: The desire to help others in such a way that can impact their lives.
Question 3: Do you take work home?
Answer: I do not take any work home however occasionally I study patients cases.
Question 4: What advice do you have for those who want to enter this career?
Answer: As I have stated before, This career is excellent! and the best advice I could give is to go ahead and do your best. Never give up on hard times.
Question 5: What is the most rewarding part?
Answer: The most rewarding part is getting pay check every 15 days [laughs] That's a joke. What is really rewarding is when new patients come in the clinic and tell me that they were refereed by a friend or family member. It brings joy to me because the reason someone would refer us is because of good work so we take it as a compliment.
Question 6: Most challenging part?
Answer: For me, I like what I do. Actually I love it. Everyday I wake up happy to go to work however their was many challenges before graduating as a doctor such as schooling, exams, and tuition.
Question 7: Do you work overtime?
Answer: No.
Question 8: How much flexibility do you have?
Answer: Well because I am the owner of my clinic, I get a lot of flexibility. I can go on vacations whenever or go if invited to a wedding or family activity. It is way more flexible if you own a clinic.
Question 9: How much time do you have at home?
Answer: I have a really good balance of time at home. I close my clinic on Friday and have the weekend off at my house. I only work 40 hours a week like any other person and after work I have all the time to rest in house or go out somewhere. But it depends on the job and goals, I have a family so I seek for balance between home and work.
Question 10: Is the many years of school worth it?
Answer: Yes it is, I love my job and the opportunities are excellent. You will have to miss out on family parties or other recreational activities with church or family but it is worth it.
